After two children were born in my family, I started to photograph baby/kid. It is totally different from shooting wedding or portraiture for adults, who usually can follow your instructions. The most frustrated experience of shooting a baby is that he/she might not want to cooperate or be photographed. It is a challenging for both photographer and parents. New born baby is much easier to work with since we just want to keep him/her sleeping all the time. And he/she does not mind being posed. Older babies have their own minds for many things including smiling. So for many times, after we set up the background, lighting, props and camera, we (including parents) need to entertain baby, too. The patience of babies is very limited. We have to capture as many photos as we could when they are in good mood. However, it is also a very rewarding experience to photograph lovely babies and kids. They are cute and innocent. They grow so fast and change almost everyday. I am so happy that I can save the sweet memories of the babies' growth for parents.

100-day after birth is a very important day for Chinese people. We usually celebrate it by having a feast with relatives and close friends. Of course photos of the baby on that day is one of the most important things. Decades ago when I was a baby,100-day photo usually was the first photo of a person for the whole generation. 

I am pleased to photograph Emma in my home studio. I got several studio lights, backgrounds and props for this shooting since I wanted to do better than before. The shooting did not last very long for total about 2 hours. I managed to get some good photos for the parents and myself. Now I feel confident that I can do better for next shooting with experience from this session.
